Happy Shih Tzu Personal Checks show these small dogs running and playing as well as up close and personal. The Shih Tzu breed is from Mandarin, China and is a small but ancient dog. The remains of the Shih Tzu ancestors have been found dating back 10,000 years. These little 'Lion Dogs' as they are known, have a long coat and have a distinct under-bite. The Shih Tzu was first imported to England around 1930 and was brought to the States after World War II by members of the US military.
